You look outside, and watch the snow pile up

I've gotten asked before why I love visual novels so much, or more specifically why I love Eroge so much. I've been told by some people that they love the themes of the games I play, and talk about them in a very interesting way, but that they couldn't ever play it because of the icky and awful sexual content.
Of course, it's alright to not want to read some content, and it's understandable to not want to view explicit material, but I find the attitude towards sexual subjects to be a little sad. I don't like judging others for their interests, even if they may seem strange to me sometimes, but because of the taboo nature of sexual material my interest in Visual Novels gets mocked often.

Eroge, and the way they portray sexuality, is something I was always interested in. Eroge have so many interesting stories that just wouldn't work without the explicit material, or otherwise wouldn't work in other mediums that aren't quite as free as Visual Novels.
I like and value the ability for people to express themselves and their interests, even if they’re considered to be gross or indecent. Especially with queer stories and themes I think it's important to allow sexual concepts, as kink and pride go hand in hand. (It’s also always interesting to see all the different forms “love” can take place in too.)

Now, I'm aware that many of these titles have extreme content in them, and that the long list of content warnings may be alarming to see. But I truly hold many of these titles very close to my heart, as underneath their prickly surface layer hides extremely thought provoking and deeply moving stories and themes. Reading these pieces of literature has allowed me to learn more about myself, and come to terms with the raw and ugly truth that life is sometimes. I have been helped, maybe even saved, by titles like GORE SCREAMING SHOW.

This is my space to freely talk about these stories, and create a non-judgemental haven for myself to express my own interests and intepretations. I hope that this place may greet you with that same understanding and kindness. Please feel free to reach out to me.
