The Music Room

I love music in just about every category. I also really love to share the artwork that I love! I hope that as this collection grows you may find something that interests you. Please feel free to reccomend new music to me anytime.

Gorillaz: The Mountian

Honestly, I didn't expect my first entry to be Gorillaz, much less their newest album?! I used to be a major fan of this band, but I actually fell off from following them somewhere during the Song Machine era. Imagine my shock when I see there's a brand new album and I am in love with EVERY TRACK ON THE ALBUM!

There's a very big theme of death and grief this time around. There's a huge range of collaborators as usual. To be honest, it kind of feels like a return to what I knew and liked Gorillaz for to begin with? I'm not really sure how to explain it. There's a beautiful blend of cultural influences in these tracks, I could honestly write about each individual song as it's own entry! I'm serious.

There is also an absolutely gorgeous animation that they made for this album, and I highly reccomend watching it! I was stunned with how striking it was! In general, the art was amazing for this album. Of course, Hewlett's artwork is always so appealing to me. But I just really love the artwork that was done for this album. I think everyone looks great, and the visualizers look wonderful using them.

It's extremely hard for me to choose a favorite title from this, I really do love every single track. I suppose I would say The Empty Dream Machine, The Moon Cave, The Happy Dictator, and The Shadowy Light??!! It's really hard to pick. I feel like if you were to ask me several times, it might change every time hahah. Anyways, all of this to say that I think this album is such a beautiful piece of art and I really hope that they can continue to make wonderful music like this. A side note, Asha Boshle's voice is so charming I love it a lot.
